How may jobs ?
The job count was not so good for December. The jobless rate rose from 5.7 to 6.1. This number is still lower then December of 2010 with is good news. The hardest hit jobs, Government and Construction loosing 2900 and 2700 respectively.
The good news is Virginia Jobless rate is less then the national average.
Tell me what do you think ?

There is a new bill being proposed. The bill, HB73 is proposed by Del. Dickie Bell, R – Staunton. If a recipient fails to take a drug test or refused the test they will loose benefits for a year unless they enter a treatment program.
Chris Stole was the only republican who was against the vote. Del Chris Head R- Botetourt county said he is not looking to single out welfare recipients but as steward of public money it is the obligation to ensure its being given out wisely.
Some questions why pinpoint only the welfare why not test all recipients of taxpayers money.
The fight is a constitutional battle on pinpointing certain people, some feel its an invasion of your body and rights.
My opinion:
At fist glance I read this and was YES YES ! Test them its true we have to be good stewards of tax payers money. Im sure almost anyone would feel that to be valid and a true statement. After all there is so much government waste its amazing we are not bank rupt. OH wait we almost are…… Anyway back to the topic. Its a good thing I kept reading the article. Im almost on the fence now about pinpointing one type of community program for the test. I agree maybe anyone or agency that get taxpayer money should be included in the testing .
Tell me what do you think ? To test to not ?

Yes we can say we are both in a good market and a bad market at the same time. You just need to know what aspect is best for you when making your decision.
December Home sales increased YES !!!! This is great news considering at one point the sales were numbers were dropping to almost non existent. But sales are increasing because the prices have fallen so low the bargains people cant pass up. Increase that urgency to capture the good deal with still record low interest rates. We have have 13 months of the median sales price declining for drop of 50k from the 5 year high.
If your trying to sell your home its taking longer and longer to do so and your getting less and less value for it. Currently its about an 111day market on average. When we look at everything together we can see a slow crawl to the bottom. Im not quite sure we are there yet but I can tell you based on what we see its not a speeding bullet to a brick wall anymore.

I love Chartreuse !!!
OMG can you say Im in love. I pulled up to this amazing place located on Mediterranean in Virginia Beach and immediately knew Im going to be in my element. Its a bright Chartreuse color with a sweet black pop of color you cant miss it when driving down the road. I walk in and its exactly what I expected. A floor to ceiling experience of charm. I oooohed and aaaaahed over all the delightful art. Its was just my style. A mix of old, recreated and shabby chic decor. I was intrigued by the artist use of finishes that distressed the pieces just perfectly. I have to admit I was scouting ideas for recreations of my own as I looked around the store. The artist eye for recreation is amazing. If you looking for one of a kind pieces to add pop to your office, home or bedroom you have to check this place out.

FREE RIDES !
Recently I heard that city employees and college students get FREE rides on the TIDE LIGHT RAIL. Over all thats a great perk however ITS NOT PAID FOR ! How do you give away anything FREE when your still having to collect revenue to pay for it. In my humble opinion that is CLEARLY mis managed money and policy ! This is the stupid decisions I just don’t understand. If the LIGHT RAIL was paid for then I can see offering this but clearly the revenue still needs to come in to pay for it.

REMBERING WATERSIDE, Norfolk VA
I remember as a kid going to waterside in Downtown norfolk. Its was a magical place for me and I loved to walk around looking at all the cool shops. I remember the Fudge place right in the middle of the mall. They would make chocolate fudge, rings bells and sing a song. For the life of me I cannot remember the exact name or the lyrics but I do remember the experience. Waterside was the place to go during festivals to sit and relax from the crowds it was a beautiful place. Over time Waterside seems to fail and all I saw was a place for bars and cheap stores. I never go there anymore and I dont find anything appealing at all in the shops these days.
There is hope for WATERSIDE ! It looks as if there is going to be a rebirth of the place. In pulbic session there will be a review of 5 new plans for the aging facially.
2 ideas that was written up in the Virginian Pilot on Monday
1. Open and airy modeled after Short Pump in Richmond
2. Waterside beach club and theater
Tell me do you want to see WATERSIDE return to its glory ?

TOLL ROADS AGAIN !
I remember the toll both at Witchduck on the interstate and the on ramps having .10 cent tolls when I was growing up. We lived in norfolk and traveled to Kempsville road for Sunday church. I remember getting back on the interstate and my parents having to toss in a dime for the toll.
It looks like they are coming back in Norfolk but not at a .10 cents price.
The new toll during peak time traveling through the mid town tunnel will run you $3.68 round trip. If you make this trip 5 times a week your looking at a cost of $1000.00 a year for commuting. Oh but wait there is more ! The bill will allow increase to that fee starting in 2016 and over the remaining 54 year contract it could go as high as $23.58 for a round trip add that up per year and your looking at $6,100.00! Can you believe this ? WOW I have no idea what this is going to do to our local economy and business who survive on the exchange of city residents for shopping and work. This toll is going to be such a burden to so many people. I even think to some degree you are going to have some job losses and more economic upset to the people who really cannot afford the toll at all.
Do you think we should have tolls again ?
