OMG can you say Im in love. I pulled up to this amazing place located on Mediterranean in Virginia Beach and immediately knew Im going to be in my element. Its a bright Chartreuse color with a sweet black pop of color you cant miss it when driving down the road. I walk in and its exactly what I expected. A floor to ceiling experience of charm. I oooohed and aaaaahed over all the delightful art. Its was just my style. A mix of old, recreated and shabby chic decor. I was intrigued by the artist use of finishes that distressed the pieces just perfectly. I have to admit I was scouting ideas for recreations of my own as I looked around the store. The artist eye for recreation is amazing. If you looking for one of a kind pieces to add pop to your office, home or bedroom you have to check this place out.

Im in love with art. Yes my readers know Im totally inspired by anything handmade and especially up cycled and recycled. Its just amazing the talent and creativity of people. Its also best when we can support locals who have talent. This week Im going to check out BOO’S Gift shop at 4465 Shore Drive near the Bay Bridge Tunnel on ramp.

If your interested in sending out gifts from locally made artist to your out of town friends check this place out first. Not only will you get one of a kind art but you’ll be supporting locals.

Heidi Doyle is the owner of the shop and currently has about 36 vendors she supports. She says she is very picky about quality on consigned pieces. Space is available for parties and showers with catering by Sublime.

The new toll during peak time traveling through the mid town tunnel will run you $3.68 round trip. If you make this trip 5 times a week your looking at a cost of $1000.00 a year for commuting. Oh but wait there is more ! The bill will allow increase to that fee starting in 2016 and over the remaining 54 year contract it could go as high as $23.58 for a round trip add that up per year and your looking at $6,100.00! Can you believe this ? WOW I have no idea what this is going to do to our local economy and business who survive on the exchange of city residents for shopping and work. This toll is going to be such a burden to so many people. I even think to some degree you are going to have some job losses and more economic upset to the people who really cannot afford the toll at all.

Being the”mom” of a 20 something I had the pleasure of knowing about this store sometime ago. B would want to pack up and run to Richmond , NYC or DC to check it out on a regular basis. The store is an interesting place with unique memorabilia remakes. To tell you the truth it reminded me of all things GRANDMA from the 1980″s . You know the Kmart collection. Interesting enough a little recreation and wearing the clothes proud it now is recycled in to “hip” fashion.
We get the sales catalog on a regular basis now and well to be honest the desire is slowing tapering off to dress just like the models. B is merging in to a new style and good for her. We all agreed that the opening of Urban Outfitters will now dilute the coolness of getting the fashion first . It did not matter we had to travel hours to get it. What mattered was being different.
I’m proud to say B has merged in to REAL vintage collections. There is something to be said for a op shop and flea market find. Many times it’s a snip here and a snip there and now updated for the 2012 fashion collection.

I think the store will do well. I’m only concerned with one thing PRICES. They are ridiculous !

I have been a full time Realtor in Hampton Roads for the past 10 years. I have been in the boom the crash and now what we hope is the recovery. Sam has very valid point in his interview. The housing market will carry this economy out of the pit it”s been driven into. It’s part of what created the pit and I think it’s part of what will be the cure. Look over all key points and be aware of politics and policy that could hurt the recovery. I’m paying much closer attention to tax bills and ensuring I tell my local and other officials my opnion.

Hollywood is sick of getting shafted for sharing of content by internet user’s. The bill is trying to protect Hollywood jobs in music and film. Like they don’t make enough money already , in my opinion.

The fear we are facing is creating legislation that ultimately can be used to add more censorship to the internet. BEWARE of ONLINE Censorship by the government.

Im not saying I understand the full extent of the bill nor the future actions that could come if these laws are passed. I think if your online and using the internet you do need to make your self aware of the bill and be active in having a voice with your congressmen.

Every voice counts as our government forms laws. Make sure your opinion is heard and contact your congressmen to vote for you !
