A bill was sponsored by Glen Order (R) of Newport News to the House that would allow consumers to file a claim to there insurance provide for damages from the defective chinese drywall. There is also a bill that would not let the insurance companies raise or cancel your policy. The bill has faced a brick wall and some are saying more studies need to be made. Some politicians also fear telling the insurance company they cannot raise there rates are going to violate the insurance companies rights. The Senate passed a similar bill already but many think it will fall apart when it reaches the House Commerce and Labor.

So in the mean time what do you do ? Id love to hear your comments if your currently dealing with this issue and what you are having to do about it on your own.
